The Anti-Sexual Harassment (ASH) Cell of Government Model Degree College, Daporijo was formed to create a safe and secure environment for all students and staff. The cell is inclusive in nature and aims to provide assistance to victims of sexual harassment or abuse, whether emotional, physical or verbal.

The ASH Cell also organizes awareness programmes every year on Anti-Sexual Harassment laws and related issues. This initiative is part of a directive by the Government of India, which has been implemented across educational institutions in India. With the growing incidence of harassment and abuse, higher education institutions have increasingly faced cases of misconduct and the ASH Cell works to prevent such incidents within the college.

The cell also organizes sensitization and awareness programs to educate students and staff about the “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013” and other related laws.

The ASH Cell is committed to ensuring a respectful and dignified campus for all and will take strict action against any act of harassment.
